My three year career as a middle school teacher has come to a close. This was unexpected, but necessary in order to do an internship for grad school. So, that's new. Also, Lolly and I just had our second baby--Olivia Michele Weed. She's a real cutie, and is just entering the phase where she smiles and interacts, which is awesome. Our other daughter, Anna, is doing great--talking up a storm, making connections, singing, and dancing. Lolly is adjusting to phase two of motherhood, and I spend my time either at home writing, in class, or being a therapist. Life is good.

I'm still teaching at Northwood Middle (go Panthers!) and I'm still studying marriage and family therapy at Seattle Pacific University. This year, happily, I'm teaching just English, and loving every minute of it. The big change for the moment is the fact that we're house-sitting for a doctor who's house-sitting for his parents who are in another country. Aaaand the house is next door to Lolly's parents. It's been great. Anna is 16 months old, and she's walking now finally (she skipped the crawling stage). She's a lot of fun, and life is very very good. Please comment if you'd like to be added. New friends always welcome (but you must have a free livejournal for me to add you).

I kind of like this yearly September snapshot. This year I'm a teacher at Northwood Middle School in the Kent school district (go Panthers!). I'm also a student myself of marriage and family therapy at Seattle Pacific University. My daughter, Anna, is four months old, and she's very sweet. I still don't know how the teaching vs. therapy combo is going to play out, but I'm very glad to be getting an education in both. My journal is friends-only now, but do leave a comment to be added. New friends are always welcome.

Well, now I'm teaching at Springville Junior High (go Red Devils!) which I, thus far, genuinely love. A more perfect job for me seems impossible (or rather, improbable?) but I am planning to do my graduate work in some form of therapy (I'm leaning towards marriage and family at the moment) so hopefully some highly awesome fusion of teaching and therapy can be acheived somewhere down the line. Still haven't chosen my next language, and I'm beginning to think it all boils down to a work-avoidance technique. Which is fine. And that covers the basics.

Hi. My name is Josh. I'm a senior at Brigham Young University and am working towards my English teaching degree. I'm also a principal chair in the BYU Symphony Orchestra, in which I play the violin. Other interests include reading, writing, working out, hanging out with my awesome wife, Laurel, and watching movies. I'm LDS. I'm genetically half Swedish, though my dad is second-generation American. I play on a violin made by my maternal grandfather. I have been married two years. I speak Spanish fluently and have lived in Venezuela and Puerto Rico. My next language will be either Greek, Latin or Italian, and I can't decide which one I want to commit to. Also, I want to teach middle school. And I'm not even certifiably insane or desperate for a career. Please read on to find out more about my scintillating life. . .
